Top 5 Reasons Kim Lehman Should Resign
1. She Lied: Kim Lehman lied about a person who represents our best shot at a congressional pick up. The flyer that her organization, Iowa Right to Life, sent out was a wild distortion of the facts. Mariannette Miller-Meeks has stated she is pro-life, everyone in her district seems to know it - why don't you, Kim?
2. The Teahen Factor: If there has ever been a bigger fraud, it's Peter Teahen. She supported him in the primary, despite Teahen's convenient voter registration change to Republican in order to run for Congress, as well as his donations to radical pro-chice candidates in the past. There is a clear, underlying motive here that seeks to discredit the candidate who rightfully beat Lehman's in the primary. Undermining, in a position as National Committee Woman, is abhorrent.
3. County Committees' Confidence: Yes, yes...we get the emails too that are floating around. We know you all are none too happy with her actions, and you want her gone. We hear you loud and clear. Lehman has completely lost your confidence and will never be an effective - or trusted - National Committee Woman.
4. Donations: That giant sucking sound you hear is money drying up from the state party. Rarely do they give us a very good reason to give, but Lehman has actively worked to give donors a reason not to give. They were already hurting because of the batshit crazy national committee folks - Scheffler and Lehman - and that idiot Gopal Krishna. Anemic doesn't describe it. Now, however, she is giving them a reason not to give. We hear nobody is giving to Iowa Right to Life these days either, which is what happens when you lie about candidates and use the majority of funds for salaries and overhead any way.
5. The Life Movement...backward: When Kim ran for National Committee Woman, she assured we, the delegates, that she would always back the Republican in each race. Now, however, what has become apparent is not only will she refuse to back a Republican, she will send out false and misleading literature from her shell group, the Iowa Right to Life. This hurts not just Mariannette and Kim - it hurts unborn babies as well. The Life movement will see a step backward because of this, and she needs to spend a lot of time repairing it - if she can. Might be time for some new blood as head of IRTL.

The only person's life that has been improved (or saved for that matter) is Kim's. Her work for IRTL is admirable, but completely ineffective. If she truly wants to save the unborn, she should step aside as the leader of IRTL. They are completely and I mean COMPLETELY ineffective at actually having ANY influence on campaigns they are supporting. Thus, their organization has had no impact on who is actually elected to Congress or the Statehouse. You know, the people who actually make decisions on the issue of life.
She also is the laughing stock of the lobby. Not only by other lobbyists but also a large majority of the members (many of whom are pro life).
Her ineffectiveness on the campaign trail and as a "lobbyist", is doing the life movement much more harm than good. I just wish she could see this but, far too often, power hungry people, like her, cannot see their own shortcomings and lash out at those who point them out - in this case for the well being of those who cannot help themselves, the unborn.
I rarely speak up on blogs, and I'm not one to just pile on someone like this just for the fun of it. My intentions are truly pointed at ensuring we elect more pro life leaders and work to bring more people to the side of life.
I like Kim as a person and I think her intentions are mostly good, but it is time for fresh leadership at IRTL and RPI.

Spot on, guys...
You can't serve two masters when it comes to movement politics and partisan politics. Parties are bigger than movements, despite needing them.

People like Kim and Steve should either be "volunteers" for their organizations, or lose the political jobs. They trade on their positions in those organizations to get paid and it's wrong.

Kim is just plan stupid, as in dumb. She's not very bright. Scheffler is smart enough to save his own ass when needed.
We need new leadership for the movement. Steve is just as stale as the "voter guides" they pass out. Worthless.

Kim lied, then the Party died.

Lehmen should be taken down and soon. No more money out of my pocket to that party. I'll give it to Latham or King or maybe some local candidates but nothing to a party that allows TERRIBLE people like Kim Lehmen and Steve Scheffler to destroy things.
I am so ashamed to be a Republican with this bitch spouting off. She is an embarrassment to our state and our party.
She is terrible. Awful. Ridiculous.
If you are on the State Central Committee and are reading this: remove her or prepare yourself to face the fire.

I really admire Kim Lehman. I think her work is very admirable. She has run some awesome fundraisers, such as the huge booksale at 7 flags, to support local pregnancy centerts. And I believe she really has made a difference for the best in the pro-life movement.
